Basketball Champions League Final Four 2025 powered by Sunel was officially presented on Friday.
The SUNEL Group was awarded naming sponsor rights for the championship-crowning tournament of the 2024-25 edition of the BCL.
The Final Four will be held between May 9 and 11. Host AEK is set to face defending champion Unicaja in the Semifinals. On the other side of the remaining bracket are La Laguna Tenerife and Galatasaray.
“We are happy to host this celebration for a third time,” said the owner of the Greek club, Makis Angelopoulos, “This might be the most competitive Final Four in BCL history, and thus we expect a really competitive tournament. We are happy with our decision to support this league from the first season. It has proven values such as equality, supporting domestic leagues, the pillar of the sport for us. You can’t ignore domestic leagues to qualify for European competitions. And every year the BCL gets even bigger.”
In addition to Athens and AEK, Paris was considered a potential host to the Final Four.
“It’s not always easy to find a host. We seek suitable conditions, but sometimes that is complicated. This year, we were very close with Paris and Adidas Arena, but political and other issues in France did not allow us to complete a deal,” BCL CEO Patrick Comninos described the process leading to the hosting rights to the Greek capital, “We had the constant willingness by AEK and Nanterre wanting to host the event in Paris, which wasn’t easy to support without a French team, then the destination became clear for us.”
