A complicated situation for Unicaja heading to the Basketball Champions League Final Four powered by Sunel.
The status of Kendrick Perry, Olek Balcerowski, and Kameron Taylor is uncertain, as detailed by La Opinion de Malaga on Monday. Also, Nihad Djedovic will remain sidelined.
Picking up a win in Round 30 of the 2024-25 Regular Season of Spain’s Liga Endesa on Sunday, combined with early exits for Perry and Balcerowski due to leg and hand injuries, respectively. Upon medical tests, both returned to the bench but did not play for the remainder of the meeting with MoraBanc Andorra in Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Taylor traveled to the United States for the birth of his daughter and missed the last two ACB games.
Tyson Perez, Dylan Osetkowski, Melvin Ejim, Tyler Kalinoski, Jonathan Barreiro, Alberto Diaz, Tyson Carter, Killian Tillie, David Kravish, and Yankuba Sima are the remaining ten players currently considered available for head coach Ibon Navarro.
However, the plan is for the three aforementioned squad members to practice later this week and join their teammates in a championship bid.
Moving to the BCL Final Four, the team based in Malaga will face host AEK Betsson in Sunel Arena on Friday. The winner will advance to a championship game in the Greek capital on Sunday.
Injury issues for the team coached by Dragan Sakota feature C.J. Bryce and Zois Karampelas. Left shoulder and right ankle setbacks, respectively, ruled them out for Game 1 of a best-of-three series of the Stoiximan GBL Semifinals against Olympiacos on Sunday.
