Norris Agbakoko inked a three-year contract to become the first official summer signing of ALBA Berlin.
The team based in the capital of Germany announced the addition of the 25-year-old German center on Friday.
“My family and myself, we can not wait to move to Berlin to get to know the city and the organization better,” said Agbakoko.
“ALBA embodies development, success, passion, extra effort, and teamwork,” he added, “These are all things I identify with and look forward to in the coming years. I want to be a part of that.”
So far in the his professional career, the native of Bremen played exclusively for EWE Baskets Oldenburg, since coming out of the junior teams and debuting with the senior squad in 2018. Moving his talents to Albatrosse, he returns to the Basketball Champions League, carrying the experience of nine appearances between the 2021-22 and 2023-24 journeys.
In the 2024-25 edition of the easyCredit BBL, his fifth campaign in the top-flight division of Germany, Agbakoko tallied 11.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 0.7 steals per contests over 31 appearances, including 23 starts. ALBA is the new destination for his sixth year.
“We would have liked to sign Norris earlier and are therefore all the more pleased that it has finally happened,” noted sports director Himar Ojeda, “His development over the past few years has been impressive, and we want to support him at ALBA in reaching his full potential.”
