There is never-ending love in basketball as well, and Giorgi Shermadini’s connection with La Laguna Tenerife could be perfectly described as such. He has signed a contract extension until 2027.

In last year’s ACB, he put up 11.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, proving to still be a driving force for the black-and-yellow side, helped by his pick-and-roll leader Marcelinho Huertas.

“My family is very happy on the island, and I want to continue helping the team play well and earn more wins to achieve even greater success next season. We’re coming off a very good season, especially in the ACB,” the experienced center commented on his contract extension

Among Tenerife’s opponents in Group D of the Regular Season, Bnei PenLink Herzliya signed 28-year-old Max Heidegger to a 1+1 contract on Friday. He is a veteran of four BCL games with EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the 2021-22 season, and also carries experience from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup.

Heading to Group E, FIT/One Wurzburg Baskets completed a double by acquiring two players from Veolia Towers Hamburg, 28-year-old Brae Ivey and 29-year-old Johnathan Stove. Both signed one-year contracts. Entering the Champions League for the first time, 28-year-old Pauly Paulicap signed a one-year contract to join Promitheas Vikos Cola.

Fellow Greek club with a direct ticket to the Regular Season, Karditsa Iaponiki, announced a one-year deal with 25-year-old El Ellis. In the Qualification Rounds pack, 29-year-old Nikos Persidis re-signed with PAOK mateco for the next season.
