Spending time together not only in the Swedish national team but also with UCAM Murcia, Simon Birgander and Ludde Hakanson will continue playing on the same team.

After announcing the return of the 27-year-old center, Joventut Badalona will have his countryman in the control room as well, preparing for the Basketball Champions League season and signing a two-year contract. They will play together at FIBA EuroBasket 2025 as well.

Last year, he collected 11.3 points and 3.1 assists per game with UCAM Murcia in the European competition after finishing in 3rd place the previous season.

Breein Tyree and Noam Yaacov making moves

Hakanson’s move to Joventut Badalona wasn’t the only one in today’s transfer market for Basketball Champions League teams, as BC Igokea and Filou Oostende made moves too.

The Bosnian side brought on board Breein Tyree, one of the best scorers in the whole competition for the past few seasons. Last year, with Aliaga Petkimspor, he put up 14.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game; this will be his fourth BCL team after Sassari and Oostende, too.

Talking about the Belgians, the new team coached by Georgios Dedas added the 20-year-old Danish-Israeli point guard Noam Yaacov, who recently stayed with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Tenerife and Reggio Emilia adding pieces

Ultimately, two teams that faced each other last year in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16 also moved on the transfer market.

On one end, Pallacanestro Reggiana brought in the Italian forward Tomas Woldetensae, recently with Napoli Basket. The red-and-white Italian team won’t be making their way into the competition straight from the Regular Season but from the Qualifying stage.

La Laguna Tenerife, which couldn’t compete for the title but finished the season in the BCL Semi-Finals, added Hector Alderete, previously with Movistar Estudiantes.
