Spartak Office Shoes from Subotica is set to make its debut in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season and has been placed in Group H alongside Dreamland Gran Canaria, Le Mans Sarthe Basket, and SL Benfica.
Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, the Serbian club, which also competes in the ABA League, made a series of quick roster moves. Spartak extended contracts with Luka Cerovina, Stefan Momirov, and Danilo Nikolić, while also signing five new players.
The team, coached by former Partizan and Lokomotiv Kuban tactician Vladimir Jovanović, added Igor Drobnjak, Keondre Kennedy, Nikola Rebić, Uroš Banjac, and Shevon Thompson.
Montenegrin national team player Drobnjak joins Spartak from SC Derby, while Keondre Kennedy arrives from Trefl Sopot (Poland), having previously played for Hamburg Towers and Basket Torino.
Former Crvena Zvezda prospect Rebić returns to Serbian basketball after several seasons abroad, most recently playing for Turkish club Büyükçekmece. Over his career, the 30-year-old guard has also represented teams such as Bilbao Basket, Monaco, Nanterre, Mitteldeutscher, Avtodor, Nizhny Novgorod, and Samara.
Banjac joins from Vojvodina, while Thompson arrives from France, where he spent the past two seasons with SLUC Nancy. The 32-year-old Jamaican center has also played for Oostende, Alba Berlin, Fuenlabrada, Brose Bamberg, among others.
Moreover, for one Serbian team making a lot of moves, there’s also one Serbian player moving in the Basketball Champions League. It’s the case of Dusan Neskovic, who comes back to Europe to play with Heidelberg after four years in college.
