Pallacanestro Trieste has officially named Israel González as its new head coach. The 48-year-old Spaniard arrives following a seven-year tenure at ALBA Berlin, including three seasons as head coach.
During his time in Berlin, González won two German championships and one German Cup, while also coaching 129 games in the EuroLeague.
He previously worked as an assistant under Aíto García Reneses, contributing to ALBA’s reputation for developing young talent and playing a dynamic, team-oriented style.
Trieste’s management described the appointment as a key step in the club’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position in Italian basketball and return to European competition.
