Heading to Group B of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, ERA Nymburk announced a one-year deal with Marcus Santos-Silva.
“Marcus will give us physical strength and will,” mentioned head coach Oren Amiel, “He can play in any combination with all our big players, which will give us flexibility.”
The 28-year-old center completed the 2025-26 roster of Czechia’s NBL champions, placing alongside Jaromir Bohacik, Jhamir Brickus, Wesley Dreamer, Vojtech Hruban, Martin Kriz, Jaquan Lawrence, Sir’Jabari Rice, Frantisek Rylich, Ondrej Sehnal, and Matej Svoboda.
Santos-Silva is back in the BCL after playing nine games with Saint-Quentin last season, averaging 2.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. After parting ways with the French club, he finished the 2024-25 journey with Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Be’er Sheva/Dimona in Israel.
In 2022, following NCAA stints with Texas Tech and Virginia Commonwealth, the Boston native attempted to launch an NFL career and signed with the Cleveland Browns, but was later waived.
Back to basketball, he played for LMBC in the second-tier division of France over the 2023-24 season. In addition, he expanded his career into the international level, featuring in three AfroBasket 2025 Qualifiers fixtures with Cape Verde.
A candidate to join Nymburk, ALBA Berlin, and Sabah in Group B through a Qualification tournament in Samokov, Polish outfit PGE Start Lublin added 29-year-old Tevin Mack and re-signed 22-year-old Wiktor Kepka for the 2025-26 season.
Returning to the Qualifiers following last season’s appearance with Trepca, 28-year-old Malik Johnson joined Lithuanian club Juventus.
