Slovakian League champions Patrioti Levice will participate in the Basketball Champions League regular season for the first time in club history.

Will Carius drained a tough, turnaround triple at the buzzer and finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds to push Patrioti Levice past Bakken Bears Aarhus 100 – 98 after two overtimes in the Final of the Basketball Champions League Qualification Tournament 1. Thanks to this win, the Levice side secured the last available regular-season spot.

This was Carius’s first 3-pointer in the game after six misses from beyond the arc.

Rickey McGill had forced the second extra period for Levice with a 3-point bucket off the board almost at the buzzer. With momentum from that basket, his team went on to grab a 93 – 86 lead with three minutes to play.

The Bears responded with a 3-10 run and then went up 97 – 98 after 1-2 free throws by Carius. The American forward then drilled the bucket to win the game.

Duke Deen delivered 25 points and six rebounds for the Bears while Tymu Chenery posted 20 points and eight boards.

Andre Wesson Jr contributed 20 points and six rebounds to the win of Levice. Rickey McGill notched 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
