What a game to open Day Two of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Round 1!
Hapoel Holon hosted Bursaspor in Hungary and, after a great battle, found a way to an 84–74 win in the final quarter.
It was Xavier Munford who led the scoring with 26 points for Hapoel, also grabbing eight rebounds, but Derrick Walton took MVP of the Game honors, recording a double-double of 20 points and 11 assists for a team-high PIR of 25. Jordon McRae followed with 19 points.
On the other side, Landry Nnoko had 16 points and seven rebounds, Brandon Childress chipped in 14 points, while Bryant Crawford scored 10.
The Israeli side was down after 20 minutes but came back on the court after the break with a vengeance and turned the tables. However, Bursa didn’t back down and regained the lead midway through the final period, but then Xavier Munford took over and hit three three-pointers to help Hapoel regain control.
After that, Danny Franco’s team secured the lead and cruised to an opening victory.
