Elan Chalon is another team that secured a victory in the first round of the new Basketball Champions League season. Although Alba had an eight-point lead at halftime (43-35), the visitors turned the game around with a strong run, especially at the start of the third quarter, and finished a game with a win, with a 81-76 score.
The top scorer for Chalon was Jeremiah Hil with 15 poins, Nate Darling added 14 and Lionel Gaudoux finished with 12. On the other side, Alba was not helped even by Boogie Ellis’s masterful performance, as he finished with 27 points (6/9 for two, 3/6 for three, 6/8 free throws) and seven rebounds.
Alba tried to get back into the game, narrowing the gap to just two points several times, but Hill dashed all hopes for the home team by hitting a three-pointer with five seconds left, securing the win for the guests.
The first game of this group was played on Tuesday, with Nymburk easily defeating Sabah at home (93-65).
