Levice recorded their first win in the second round of Group F in the BCL by surprising Riga away, with a score of 92-73.
Slovak champions bounced back after a heavy defeat in the first round. They were led by an outstanding game from Rickey McGill, who finished with 22 points, ten assists and seven rebounds. Andre Wesson contributed with 19 points, while Serbian point guard Novak Music also played very well, scoring 16 points in the win.
On the other side, Zahir Porter was again Riga’s top performer with 20 points.
After an even first half, Levice decided the game early in the third quarter with a 14-0 run, gaining a double-digit lead that they maintained comfortably until the end to secure the victory in the Latvian capital.
Levice now have a 1-1 record and will host AEK in two weeks for the third round of the group stage. Riga, with two losses, will play away at Szolnoki in the next round.
