Galatasaray secured a victory in the Group E derby, defeating Wurzburg on their home court in the third round of the Basketball Champions League with a score of 89-83.
James Palmer was the deciding factor, as he played another excellent game for Galatasaray. He scored 24 points, with five assists and five rebounds. He was supported by Will Cummings with 18 points and six assists, and Jerome Robinson Jr. with 12 points.
On the other hand, Marcus Carr was the standout for Wurzburg with 18 points.
The home team started the game better and was already near a double-digit lead at the end of the first quarter (24-16). However, Wurzburg managed to pull back to level terms, even taking the lead twice, but the decisive moments came at the end of the third and the start of the fourth quarter. Galatasaray went on a 10-0 run, pulling away to a double-digit lead (75-64), which they maintained until the end.
Galatasaray has a 3-0 record after three rounds, while this was Wurzburg’s first loss in the BCL. Group E also includes Igokea and Trieste, with the team from Laktasi defeating the Italians earlier this evening to secure their first victory of the season.
