Ahmaad Rorie is back in the Basketball Champions League, joining Igokea m:tel following an injury to JeQuan Lewis.
The deal was announced on Monday.
With 31-year-old Lewis set for a long stint on the injury list, the new playmaker carries the experience of 14 appearances in the Champions League, spread between his spells with Keravnos and SL Benfica. Over two games in the Regular Season of the 2024-25 installment, he tallied 11.0 points and 4.5 assists per contest.
In addition to returning to FIBA Europe’s premier club continental competition, he is also bouncing back in the AdmiralBet ABA League, following his stint with Mega MIS. Besides Cyprus, Portugal, and Serbia, the 30-year-old combo guard displayed his talents in Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary, and France. Previously in the NCAA, he suited up for Montana and Oregon from 2014 to 2019.
Back in action after parting ways with Benfica at the bottom of the 2024-25 campaign, Rorie meets the Laktasi outfit at 1-3 in Group E of the Regular Season, amid a battle with Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets and Trieste for two tickets to the Play-Ins and a second opportunity to reach the Round of 16. Home games against Wurzburg on November 19 and Galatasaray MCT Technic on December 17 will decide whether the team coached by Nenad Stefanovic can progress.
At the regional level, a 4-1 start is tied with Partizan Mozzart Bet in second place of Group A of the ABA Regular Season, trailing only undefeated Dubai.
