Heidelberg recorded a victory in the fifth round of Group A in the BCL, as they defeated Promitheas at home with a score of 82-62.
The best player on the winning team was Marcel Kessen with 17 points, Marcus Weathers added 16, while Samuell Williamson scored 13.
In the Greek team, Claudell Harris was by far the best with 21 points, while Rob Gray and Kendal Coleman finished the game with ten.
We witnessed a very close first half, which ended with a minimal lead for Heidelberg (38-37) and the home team’s dominance in the second half. The Germans started the third quarter with a 16-0 run, created a big lead, and eventually secured the victory in front of their fans.
This triumph by the Germans caused complete chaos in Group A. Both teams now have a 2-3 record, so the matches of the final round will decide who advances and who will end the competition after the group stage.
Heidelberg will visit Legia in a month’s time, while Promitheas will expect a match in Patras against Rytas.
