Spartak Subotica achieved victory in the fifth round of the Basketball Champions League group stage by defeating Benfica with a score of 99-69.

The top scorer for the winning team was Shevon Thompson with 21 points, Stefan Momirov added 19, while Dalibor Ilic scored 13. On the other side, Geno Crandall led the scorers with 18 points, while Aleksander Dziewa added 12.

Spartak did what they had to do. The team led by Vladimir Jovanovic, who were the heavy favorites, crushed the Portuguese side, delighted their fans, and defeated Benfica for the second time this season.

The hosts already had a double-digit lead at halftime, won the third quarter 30-16, and ultimately secured a routine victory.

This win also means that Spartak will continue their European campaign. The Serbian team has a record of 3-2 and has secured one of the top three spots, but their exact position will be determined after their final group game against Le Mans away.

On the other hand, Benfica has one win and four losses, and they will conclude the group stage with an away game against Gran Canaria. As things currently stand, they will need a win to advance further.
