AEK announced on Thursday that it has signed Gian Clavell, who will be a member of the Athens team until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Clavell is a Puerto Rican who plays point guard and shooting guard positions. He began his career in his homeland and during the 2017-18 season tested himself with the Dallas Mavericks, for which he played seven games.

He also played in Turkey, Spain, Russia, Greece, and Ukraine, while he started this season with the Romanian team Valcea. Now, he’ll try to help AEK, who is currently on 4-0 in BCL and 5-2 in the Greek championship.

During the day, another Greek club, which competes in the BCL, Karditsa, has strengthened its frontcourt with the addition of American center Warren Washington, who will make his European debut after spending last season in the G League.

Washington (25, 2.13 m) arrives as a replacement for Francis Okoro, who suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

The Greek club continues its campaign in the Basketball Champions League play-ins and holds a 3–4 record in the Stoiximan GBL, sitting ninth in the standings.

A Phoenix native, Washington played college basketball at Oregon State, Nevada, Arizona State, and Texas Tech, posting consistent production throughout his NCAA career. Last season, he averaged 3.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 12.9 minutes with Sioux Falls in the G League.

Karditsa welcomed Washington to the team, wishing him health and success in his first European stint.
