Unicaja recorded a win in the fifth-round game of Group G in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, beating Oostende 89–73 on the road.
The top scorer for the winning team was Jonathan Barreiro with 13 points, same as Aleksander Balcerowski, and interestingly, 11 Unicaja players finished the game in points.
For the hosts, Pierre-Antoine Gillet scored 22 points, while Aaron Estrada and Max Fiedler added 10 each.
The game in Belgium had no impact on the standings, as it was already known beforehand that Unicaja would finish first in Group G, while Oostende went into the clash knowing it had no theoretical chance of reaching the Play-In.
Ibon Navarro once again distributed the minutes among his players, and even that was enough for the visitors to keep Oostende at bay. Unicaja won all four quarters, gradually increasing the lead and eventually securing the victory.
After five rounds, Unicaja stands at 5–0 and will finish the group phase with a home game against AS Karditsa. Oostende is still winless and will have a chance for a farewell victory away to Mersin.
