The Group Stage of the X Edition of the Basketball Champions League has come to an end. Before the Play-In and the round of 16 began, the competition announced the best five from the first round.
With a lot of great talent in the competition, the best five players from the BCL group stage are: Ricky Rubio (Joventut), Jeremiah Hill (Elan Chalon), Will Cummings (Galatasaray MCT Technic), Jack White (Mersin Sports Club), and Chris Silva (AEK BC).
Ricky Rubio, 35, returned to the court after a year away from the game. He has been the leader of a Joventut Badalona team that has become one of the favorites to win the title, with a record of 6-0 to remain undefeated in the competition. The Spanish legend averaged 14.2 points and 4.8 assists per game, shooting on 53% from beyond the arc.
Jeremiah Hill, 30, led Chalon to a 5-1 record in Group B, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Will Cummings, 33, averaged 8.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game in the Group Phase, again being the leader of Galatasaray. The Turkish squad was the runner-up last season, and they finished the first round with a 5-1 record in Group E.
Jack White, 28, led the Group Phase in blocks (2.2), and averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The Australian forward is one of the names to keep an eye on in the competition.
And finally, Chris Silva completes the best five of the group stage. The AEK center has been dominant and has attracted the attention of EuroLeague clubs, averaging 14.8 points and 8 rebounds per game.
