Galatasaray MCT Technic has found a new coach following the dismissal of Yakup Sekizkök.
The Turkish club has appointed former Italian national team head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco to its bench.
The 53-year-old coach had previously coached Italy at EuroBasket 2025 and resigned after a defeat against Slovenia in the knockout stage.
Pozzecco, who rose to prominence in his coaching career with Dinamo Sassari and won the FIBA Europe Cup, previously served as an assistant coach at Olimpia Milano in the EuroLeague. He was the head coach of ASVEL during the 2023-24 season.
Galatasaray will face Rytas Vilnius in Group I of the Basketball Champions League round of 16, while their other two opponents will be determined after the play-in matches between Hapoel Holon-Trapani Shark and Mersinspor-Le Mans Sarthe Basket.
