Trieste routed NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz, 82-62, to steal home-court advantage in the Play-Ins on Tuesday.

After a tight affair in the first half and 11 lead changes, the visitors blew the game open in the second half, taking the distance to 20 points in DVTK Arena. Empatically snapping a four-game losing streak across all competitions earned a 1-0 advantage in a best-of-three series for a ticket to the Round of 16 of the Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL.

Five players went into double-digit contributions in Game 1, including Jahmi’us Ramsey, tallying a game-high 17 points on 6/11 from the field. Markel Brown and Jeff Brooks shared a team-high efficiency rating of 17. The game-high 21 belonged to Brady Skeens behind an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double for Hungary’s NB I/A champions and leaders of the 2025-26 edition with a 14-1 record.

Tamas Pallai remained sidelined for the team coached by Vedran Bosnic, similar to Colbey Ross and Mady Sissoko for the opposite play-caller, Israel Gonzalez. All three players are dealing with knee injuries.

Olaj previously prevailed across the three home fixtures of the Regular Season, en route to initially securing home-court advantage in the Play-Ins, but is now facing elimination on the road, with Game 2 in PalaTrieste on Thursday. Game 3, if necessary, would return the series to Miskolc for a decider next week.

The eventual winner will join La Laguna Tenerife and Dreamland Gran Canaria in Group L, plus MLP Academics Heidelberg or ERA Nymburk.
