Aaron Estrada is a newcomer for Karditsa Iaponiki. His addition to the roster was announced on Friday.

The 24-year-old combo guard is bouncing back in Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, after introducing himself in the recent Regular Season with Filou Oostende. He tallied 13.5 points, 3.2 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per contest over six appearances, including two opposite Karditsa with 16.5 points per game. The 2025-26 campaign marks his first overseas experience after focusing on the G League throughout his 2024-25 journey to start his professional career.

His previous side, Oostende, ranked fourth in the BCL’s Group G on a 0-6 run and was eliminated, but the team coached by Nikos Papanikolopoulos finished third behind a 2-4 record and swept Spartak Office Shoes in a best-of-three Play-In series to enter Group J of the Round of 16. A loss to fellow Greek club AEK on Wednesday shaped a 0-1 start in a new six-game double-legged round-robin schedule.

Domestically, Karditsa sits ninth in the Stoiximan GBL standings with a 4-10 tally. In Round 16 of Greece’s top-tier league, the next game is on the road versus Peristeri Betsson on Saturday. The continental journey resumes on Tuesday with Tofas in Karditsa’s Giannis Bourousis Karditsa Municipal Indoor Sports Hall.

On Thursday, Mike Bothwell was released from his contract, paving the way for a new backcourt option for 46-year-old Papanikolopoulos. From the top of the 2025-26 season, the 26-year-old guard averaged 5.2 points per contest over five Champions League games, increasing his total to nine appearances.

Elsewhere in the BCL, 24-year-old Tony Perkins signed a deal for the remainder of the season with ERA Nymburk. His arrival was confirmed on Friday.

Following the recent departures of forward Wesley Dreamer and center KeyShawn Feazell, the reigning champions of Czechia’s maxa NBL opted to strengthen the backcourt with the American point guard. The former Missouri and Iowa standout has already displayed his talents in Italy and Lithuania so far in his first professional season, en route to FIBA Europe’s top-tier club competition.

Nymburk, under the guidance of Oren Amiel, started Group L in the BCL’s Round of 16 with an away loss to La Laguna Tenerife on Tuesday. Up next is Dreamland Gran Canaria in Prague’s Kralovka Arena on Tuesday.
