Chimezie Metu has become the new member of Gran Canaria, announced the Spanish club on their social media.
The team from the Canary Islands has made a significant addition, although it remains to be seen what condition Metu is in, as he hasn’t played since March last year due to a torn Achilles tendon. In the meantime, Metu was close to signing with Fenerbahce, but negotiations fell through in the final stages.
This 27-year-old Nigerian-American power forward began his career with the San Antonio Spurs and also played for the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, and Detroit Pistons in the NBA. He arrived in Barcelona in 2024, with the Catalan giant being his first European club.
