Le Mans achieved a victory in the sixth round of Group I in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, defeating Hapoel Holon at home with a score of 102-92.
Bastien Grasshoff was the best player for the home team with 17 points, TaShawn Thomas added 16, while Trevor Hudgins and Travante Williams each scored 14. On the other side, Darin Green and Adama Sanogo were the top scorers with 17 points each.
Before the match, the equation was clear for Le Mans – they had to win to stay in the race for the Quarterfinals. On the other hand, the Israeli team had nothing to fight for.
The French team capitalized on this, gaining a convincing lead in the first quarter (31-18), which grew to a maximum of +22 (78-56). The visitors managed to reduce the deficit in the final moments but couldn’t avoid defeat.
However, even this victory didn’t help Le Mans. They finished the competition in Group I in third place with a 4-2 record, while Rytas and Galatasaray advanced, having the same record but a better point difference. Hapoel Holon ended last, without a single win in this phase.
