Rytas secured a crucial victory in the sixth round of Group I in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16, defeating Galatasaray away with a score of 90-81.

With this triumph, the Lithuanians advanced to the Quarterfinals from the top spot, securing home-court advantage in the next phase.

Gytis Masiulis was impressive with 25 points, Simonas Lukosius scored 22, while Ignas Sargiunas and Kay Bruhnke added 12 each. Galatasaray‘s efforts were led by Errick McCollum with 26 points, and James Palmer with 18 points and eight assists.

One of the most crucial matches of this phase was played in Istanbul, where Rytas, with an excellent finish, achieved success and advanced further. The decisive moment was a 9-0 run midway through the fourth quarter, allowing the Lithuanian team to pull away and ultimately secure the victory and the top spot.

In the Group I standings, Rytas, Galatasaray, and Le Mans each had 4 wins and 2 losses. However, point difference decided the outcome, with the Lithuanians finishing first, ahead of today’s rival, while Le Mans failed to advance.
