The Lithuanians managed to defend their home court with 19 points from Jerrick Harding

Rytas secured a victory in the first game of the Basketball Champions League Quarterfinal series, defeating Nymburk at home with a score of 77-70.

Jerrick Harding scored 19 points, Speedy Smith had 13, Arturas Gudaitis 12, while Ignas Sargiunas and Gytis Masiulis both reached double digits with 10 points.

For the guests, no one scored more than 10 points, with Tony Perkins, David Bohm, Martin Kriz, and Jaromir Bohacik all contributing 10 each.

The Quarterfinals started excellently for the Lithuanians, who gained an advantage in the series. It wasn’t easy, and the game was decided after a dramatic finish.

We saw a tie for most of the match, with Nymburk being just one point behind five minutes before the end (69-68), but they faltered in the closing moments. The crucial three-pointer was made by Harding, who scored with 88 seconds left, giving his team an unreachable 75-68 lead.

Rytas now has a 1-0 lead in the series, which is played to two wins. The next game is scheduled for next Tuesday in the Czech Republic.
