The 2026 edition of the Youth Basketball Champions League concluded with a historic display of dominance as Rytas solidified its status as the premier youth program.

Held in the SD Laktasi in Bosnia and Herzegovina between Tuesday and Sunday, the tournament showcased the continent’s rising stars, but none shone brighter than the Lithuanian powerhouse. The Vilnius outfit completed an unprecedented three-peat, capturing their third consecutive title by dismantling the tournament hosts, Igokea m: tel, with a clinical 77-54 victory in the championship game. Tournament MVP Gabrielius Buivydas headlined the championship effort, earning a spot on the All-Star Five, alongside teammate Benas Birzinis, who led the Finals’ scoring with 15 points.

From the opening tip-off, Rytas asserted a level of tactical discipline and physical intensity that left their opponents searching for answers. They refused to let up on their trademark defensive pressure until the final buzzer, ensuring they never once trailed throughout the final. The champions were clinical in their execution, shooting 46.2% from the field while the lead swelled to as many as 28 points, underscoring a gap in quality that has become the hallmark of this Rytas generation.

The final standings reflect the competitive depth of the tournament, though Rytas remained in a class of its own. Behind the silver-medalist hosts, who were represented on the All-Star Five by Djordje Djukanovic, Coretec Basketball Academy secured a podium finish in third place, fueled by the standout play of Tim Waerniers, whose performance earned him All-Star Five honors.

They were followed by Telekom Baskets Bonn in fourth, who saw Maximilian Von Saldern named to the tournament’s elite lineup. Borac Banja Luka and EWE Baskets Oldenburg claimed the fifth and sixth spots, while Sabah, boasting All-Star Five selection Emmanuel Agbason, Tofas, and Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg occupied the middle of the table. Galatasaray MCT Technic, Spartak Office Shoes, and ERA Nymburk rounded out the field.
