Galatasaray MCT Technic has reached an agreement to sign Montenegrin point guard Nikola Ivanovic from Germani Brescia for the upcoming 2026-27 season, per Eurohoops sources.

The 32-year-old veteran is set to lead the Istanbul outfit in both the Basketball Champions League and the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi.

This move marks a return to the BCL for the floor general, who previously logged 11 appearances in the competition during the 2016-17 season with Greece’s AEK.

Ivanovic brings a wealth of high-level European experience and a proven winning pedigree to Turkiye. He spent multiple successful seasons with his hometown team Buducnost VOLI, where he captured his first of two ABA League championships in 2018. He later moved to Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda mts/Meridianbet, helping them secure a domestic and regional triple crown while extending his EuroLeague run. Following stints with Runa in the 2023-24 installment of the VTB United League and his recent playmaking role in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai with Brescia, which amounted to 11.9 points and 4.3 assists per game over 35 games played through his 2025-26 journey, the next stop will be the Lions.

Beyond his club success, the Podgorica native is a foundational pillar of the Montenegrin national team. He has been a fixture on the senior squad since 2012, following a standout junior career. His international resume includes participation in the 2019 and 2023 editions of the FIBA World Cup, and EuroBasket in 2013 and 2017, besides additional caps across several Qualifiers settings.
