MHP Riesen filed a protest after losing to Partizan in overtime (86-82) at Belgrade for the Basketball Champions League because of the conditions of the game.

As coach John Patrick explained in the press conference: “I have heard a lot about the atmosphere in Belgrade and until the 28th minute everything was fine. After that objects were thrown to our bench and to the referees. There have been no regular conditions today.  The game should not have been continued from the 28th minute on. Therefore, we are protesting against the result”.

Patrick continued: “We have great respect for Partizan and the basketball tradition in Belgrade. You can learn a lot about basketball here. Today we met a team that had the same intensity. But it is a pity and this can’t be happening in the high level of European basketball”.
