Furkan Korkmaz moved to Banvit on loan from Anadolu Efes midway through the season to see the minutes spending on the floor getting increased and this decision has paid off quite much.

Actually, the performances with his new team in the Basketball Champions League granted him the award of the “Best Young Player” for 2016/2017.

Korkmaz, 19, averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2 assists with squad from Bandirma. Yesterday he was pivotal in Banvit reaching the Final, hitting some decisive 3-pointers down the stretch, with Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo watching him from the stands. “An extra motivation”, as Korkmaz told Eurohoops.
