In a hard-fought game, Avellino was able to beat Besiktas at the Akatlar Arena 86-80. The Turkish team had an 8 point lead after the first quarter 31-23, but they couldn’t keep up with Italians in the second half. In the third quarter, Avelino stepped up their game as they won that period 27-16.
The Key: The visiting team provided a shooting clinic in Istanbul as they made 10 triples (10/16).
The Star: Jason Rich was “hot” finishing the game with 21 points.
For the losing side, John Diebler nailed 23 points followed by Sertac Sanli with 17.
