Besiktas Sompo Japan won their 10th game in the Basketball Champions League. They knocked down Telekom Baskets Bonn at home 95-79 .

Josh Mayo tried to save Bonn, but he couldn’t do it all by himself. Mayo had a hot hand tonight scoring six triples and 22 points for the Germans. It wasn’t enough as Bonn is most likely out of the the Play-Offs race.

After a bumpy first quarter in which Besiktas turned the ball 6 times and was trailing by 3 (19-16) things changed in the second quarter. The Turkish team was able to overtake the initiative of the game. They won the second period by 5 points (23-18).

The Key: Very often third quarter is the most important one in the game. The hosts were the better team in that period as they outscored Bonn 27-19. That clinched victory for them tonight.

The Star: Sertac Sanli once again was the key guy for Besiktas. He had strong performance with 15 points and 8 boards.

With this win, Besiktas sealed the top position in the Group D of the Basketball Champions League as they have 10-3 record.
