Besiktas’ board member Cihat Kumusoglu (left on the photo) who is also the head of the basketball section, explain the position of the club.
“We will continue in the Basketball Champions League”, stated Kumusoglu to Anadolu News agency. “The FIBA competitions will surpass all other organizations in the next three years. I guess this competition will continue to grow. As a club, we are part of the competition’s committee and we know that there’s a big investment by FIBA. Everyone involved in basketball should assemble under one roof just like this competition”.
Besiktas which is currently third in the BSL league standings is expected to qualify in next season’s Basketball Champions League via their sporting results in the Turkish domestic league and if they make it to the Basketball Champions Lague Final Four, Istanbul will be one of the favorites to organize the event.
