Neptunas Klaipeda recorded their first win in the 2018-19 Basketball Champions League after beating Besiktas 78-63 in front of the home crowd.

Kyle Weaver led the victors with 21 points while Osvaldas Olisevicius added 14. Jerai Grant flirted with a double-double as he ‘notched’ 13 points and nine rebounds. For Besiktas, Ivan Buva scored 18 in addition to Erkan Veyseloglu’s 14 points.

Neptunas showed they were set on finishing things early as they were up 22-12 after the first quarter but Beskitas managed to soften the blow before the halftime (38-33).

After the break, Neptunas once again took over and with steel defense went ahead 55-40. They allowed only seven points to the guests in the third quarter (17-7). Although Besiktas showed some final comeback effort, the Lithuanian team had enough space to close the game safely.

With this match, both teams hold a 1-1 record in Group D.
