Lietkabelis beat JDA Dijon in a Day 5 match of the Group Stage of the Basketball Champions League. Both the Lithuanian and the French club had only one win in their first four games in Group C.

Lietkabelis was the one that prevailed Tuesday night and sent their opponents to their fourth straight loss.

The home team launched a 13 point lead at the beginning of the second half, but Dijon reacted and got within a shot before the end of the third period. Nenad Canak’s team didn’t panic and regained a double-digit lead with an 11-0 sprint in the last quarter, was followed by a new run and an 18-point difference in the final minutes.

Simas Jasaitis was the man of the match. The 36-year-old forward was on… fire for the +13 in the third quarter and went on in the fourth to reach 16 points. He had 1/1 free throw, 3/3 two pointers, and 3/4 three-pointers.

Gavin Ware gave it his best and showed his power with some dunks, but wasn’t enough for Dijon. The 25-year-old American center got 13 points with 5/8 two pointers and grabbed nine rebounds.
