Strasbourg ends Promitheas undefeated streak

SIG Strasbourg overcame a 12-point deficit in the last quarter to beat Promitheas Patras.

Strasbourg ended Promitheas perfect streak in the Basketball Champions League with a 83-78 win in the Day 5 game between the two teams. The French team was behind with 69-57 during the fourth period, but managed to turn the game around and get the important “W”.

Vincent Collet team got off to 13-4 start and responded after a 12-0 spurt from Promitheas with a 26-18 lead, but finished the first half behind with 41-29. The Greeks remained in charge until the final minutes, when the home team seemed fresher and avoided a bad home loss.

Ali Traore was clutch when needed and finished up with 12 points. Jeremey Nzeulie had 19 and Nicolas Lang 18 for Strasbourg. Rion Brown’s 30 points weren’t enough for the visitors.

Both teams are now at 4-1 in Group D of BCL.
