In a fairly balanced game all the way through, Besiktas Sompo Japan managed to come out on top 77-70 against Neptunas Klaipeda on Day 9 of Basketball Champions League. Both teams now hold a 4-5 record in Group D.
Jason Rich led the victors with game-high 25 points while Ivan Buva registered a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
For Neptunas, Jerai Grant scored 14 points along with 12 rebounds and four assists for a game-high index rating of 30 in addition to Gytis Masiulis’ 14 points.
After a tied first quarter (20-20), Neptunas went on the halftime break with a small 40-38 lead. Besiktas had an upper hand after the break (58-52) and although the guests tied the game late (68-68), it was the home team that came out victorious in the end.
