Besiktas Sompo Japan gambled away a 22-point halftime lead but still managed to survive Segafredo Vitus Bologna’s furious comeback for a narrow 71-70 road win on Day 12 of Basketball Champions League.
Jason Rich scored 18 for the victors in addition to Phil Pressey’s 13 points. For Bologna, Kevin Punter scored 17 followed by Tony Taylor’s 16 points.
Besiktas improved to 7-5 and is in a favorable position in the playoff race while Bologna stayed at the top of Group D with a 9-3 record.
