After sinking 159 three-pointers in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, Nanterre hit eleven more on Wednesday to defeat Besiktas, 68-59, at the Palais des Sports Maurice Thorez. The hosts gained a significant advantage in the first half of the two-game Round of 16 series, but still have to retain it next week in Turkey.

Lahaou Konate scored thirteen points making three shots outside the rainbow. Adas Juskevicius followed with 12 points and Jeremy Senglin had 11. Pascal Donnadieu’s side built a ten-point advantage with a 10-0 run in the second quarter, but needed a 12-1 run to get back up with 57-45 in the beginning of the last period.

Dusko Ivanovic’s Ivan Buva put up ten points and grabbed 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Kyle Gibson posted 10 points as well. The visitors were only 4/20 beyond the arc and Jason Rich‘s early exit due to injury certainly didn’t help them.
