Only a few weeks after 11,650 fans packed Athens’ Olympic Indoor Hall for AEK’s home match against PAOK, 13,560 tickets were sold and over 18.000 people watched the Queen’s game versus Brose Bamberg. The first time around Luca Banchi’s side advanced to the Basketball Champions League quarterfinals despite its slim defeat and in the second AEK won but failed to seal a Final Four berth. However, both occasions marked a new BCL attendance record for all qualifying, regular season and playoffs matches.

The Greek team’s pair of contests in the 2018 Final Four versus UCAM Murcia and Monaco remain on top of the list of the Champions League games with the largest audiences. Third place now belongs to Wednesday’s second leg of the quarterfinals. The Round of 16 home game against PAOK dropped to fourth place and the yellow-and-blacks’ home match versus SIG Strasbourg for the 2018 playoffs is now fifth.
