Comfortable evening for Peristeri winmasters despite the slim 91-83 home victory versus VEF Riga that led the Greek team to a 2-0 start in Basketball Champions League Group C.

William Hatcher sank five threes en route for his game-high 21 points, while Mike Morrison put up 16 with 5/5 two-pointers. Christos Saloustros also contributed to the win with 16 points behind 2/2 threes and 6/7 from the field.

The hosts never trailed on Wednesday, but saw their 20-point advantage trimmed down to one point late in the third quarter. Ilias Zouros’ players quickly recovered, still had to survive the opposition’s second and final comeback attempt for the Gameday 2 win.

Roberts Stumbris scored a team-high 18 points with 3/3 beyond the arc. Lester Medford ended up with 14 and 7 dimes, but Janis Gailitis’ side dropped to 1-1 with the loss at Arena of GS Peristeri.
