Lietkabelis dropped a 16-point lead, but took down SIG Strasbourg, 66-63, at the Rhenus Sport on Wednesday night.

In-form Zeljko Sakic poured a game-high 21 points at Strasbourg including a clutch three with 1:25 to go in the Group A match. The Croatian forward banked three shots beyond the arc, so did Vytenis Lipkevicius en route for his 14 points.

Nenad Canak’s club was strolling towards victory midway through the third quarter of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 6 affair. Down in double-digits for almost 20 minutes, Vincent Collet’s side turned the game around with a 27-10 run stretching into the fourth period, but the Lithuanian club responded with a 6-0 run of its own to retake the lead and narrowly control proceedings down the stretch.

Ali Traore was a last-minute addition to the list of unavailable players already including Travis Trice, Scottie Reynolds, Xavier Cooks and Jeremy Nzeulie. Gabe York was present and went for a team-high 20 points, while Jerai Grant notched a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double in losing effort.

Both teams are now 2-4 with the French side on a three-game losing streak.
