Gaziantep made a late comeback and eventually grabbed the win over Nizhny Novgorod after a thriller finish in Basketball Champions League

Gaziantep made a comeback in the fourth quarter and came out on top 79-76 after an exciting finish against Nizhny Novgorod. Gaziantep improved to 2-4 compared to Nizhny’s 3-3 record in Basketball Champions League Group C.

The game went down to the wire as Gaziantep made a 9-0 run – led by 23 years old İsmail Cem Ulusoy –  to go ahead 74-69 with a minute left.

Ivan Strebkov scored seven points for Nizhny including the layup to tie the game at 76 but Jamarr Sanders banked the game-winning three-pointer on the other end for the Turkish side.

Ivan Buva scored 15 points for the victors followed by Drew Crawford, Jason Rich and Sarunas Vasiliauskas’ ten points.

For Nizhny, Strebkov scored 19 in addition to Brandon Brown’s 13 and Darrlyn Willis’ 11 points.

After a tied first quarter (23-23), Nizhny was ahead 42-37 at halftime. They kept going after the break and improved the lead to 61-50 at the end of the third quarter. However,  Gaziantep managed to pull off a comeback and eventually grab the win in thriller finish.
