According to Eurohooops sources, the newly confirmed FIBA secretary general until 2031 Andreas Zagklis will meet for the first time face-to-face with the Chairman of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Dejan Bodiroga on Tuesday in Geneva.

The obvious issue to be solved, after a lot of head coaches and clubs criticized it in the last FIBA World Cup Qualifiers Window, is the conflict between the FIBA and the EuroLeague calendars.

It still remains to be seen if this can be a good start towards a better relationship between the International Federation of Basketball and the most decorated European competition.

EuroLeague acting CEO Marshall Glikman will also be present at the meeting.

The FIBA Central Board has unanimously decided to extend the contract of Secretary General Andreas Zagklis until 2031, while Dejan Bodiroga’s era at the head of the EuroLeague started with the current 2022-23 season, replacing Jordi Bertomeu.
