France wins gold at the U16 championship

The U16 Championship in Podgorica came to an end with France winning gold.

Killian Hayes (’01) led France to a 68-75 victory against hosts Montenegro with his 21 points and was named MVP of the tournament.

It’s the third title for Les Bleus in the category, following their 2004 and 2014 success.

Killian Hayes of France, Montenegro’s Bojan Tomasevic and Stefan Vlahovic, Croatian Matej Rudan and Djordje Pazin of Serbia were selected in the Best Five team and Hayes was also the MVP.

Serbia won the bronze medal, after beating Croatia 75-71 earlier in the day.
