Last season’s Intercontinental Cup final will be repeated with G-League United playing against Unicaja Malaga on Sunday (21/9).

The US representatives in the tournament got the 100-94 win over disappointing Illawara Hawks, which ended the group phase with two defeats and will have to settle for the 5th spot in the best case scenario.

Former AEK and Real Madrid player Chasson Randle with 23 points, Jaden Shackelford with 26 and Feron Hunt with 21 points and eight rebounds led the charge for the winning side.

Tyler Harvey scored 32 points for the representatives of the Australian NBL and Javale McGee, the big name of the roster, had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

In the second game of the day Alahli SC beat Utsunomiya Brex (83-78) and will fight for the third spot of the tournament against Flamengo, while Brex will face the Illawara Hawks in the contest which will decide the 5th place.

Ismael Romero with 21 points and 15 rebound dominanted the paint and that proved to be the key for Alahli’s win. For the losing side, DJ Newbill with 28 points (9/11 FG), five rebounds and seven assists had an amazing performance which was not enough.
