Lester Quinones headlines the newly announced NBA G League United squad amid swirling reports linking the 25-year-old guard to EuroLeague powerhouse Real Madrid.
Despite these transfer rumors, the Salvadoran-Dominican-American guard was officially named to the roster on Monday, fortifying an elite collection of athletes preparing for an intensive global tour heading to the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2026.
The summer showcase originates in Shanghai, where United will square off against the Shanghai Sharks for a pair of exhibition games on August 28th and August 30th. Following these initial contests and pending possible roster changes, the delegation will travel to Beijing to compete in the prestigious six-team international tournament held between September 22nd and September 27th.
Under the guidance of head coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah, the G League contingent features a dynamic mix of prospects, several of whom boast prior overseas experience. Joining Quinones in the lineup are James Bouknight, Jack Clark, Yuri Collins, Eric Dixon, Sean East II, Caleb Grill, Jaelen House, Kylor Kelley, Jake Stephens, John Ukomadu, and Phillip Wheeler.

For the preliminary phase, United has been placed into Group B, where they are scheduled to battle the Beijing Royal Fighters and Boca Juniors. The stakes remain incredibly high, as only the top two from the opening round will advance to the Semifinals, while the third-placed finisher will be relegated to the fifth-place classification game.
Founded in 2024 to represent the league in global exhibitions, G League United is hunting for its maiden championship after settling for consecutive runner-up finishes in both 2024 and 2025. This current roster hopes to avenge those back-to-back second-place heartbreaks, improving upon performances by past developmental league representatives like G League Ignite, the Austin Spurs, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and the Lakeland Magic.
