Launching a bid to reach the FIBA World Cup 2027, France announces 14 players for the upcoming international window featuring games against Belgium and Finland

A total of 14 players were called up by the senior national team selector of France, Frederic Fauthoux.

Two players, Matthew Strazel and Bodian Massa, will become available for the second part of the upcoming window dedicated to the Qualifiers of the FIBA World Cup 2027. They will be released by AS Monaco and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne following Round 13 action in the EuroLeague Regular Season on November 26.

In Group G of the European Qualifiers, France begins a six-game double-legged round-robin schedule against Belgium in Rouen on November 28. On the road in Gameday 2 on December 1, Les Bleus will face Finland in Espoo to close the first of two FIBA windows on the 2025-26 winter schedule.

Albicy is the most experienced call-up, packing 108 caps with the senior national team of his country, but Ayayi, Dossou-Yovo, Gaudoux, and Tillie are all newcomers.

Also, Nathan De Sousa of Cholet, Lucas Dufeal of Le Mans, and Narcisse Ngoy of Poitiers will join to help in team practices.

The top three seeds between France, Belgium, Finland, and Hungary advance to carry their respective W-L tallies to Group L and focus on a new six-game schedule versus the top three countries from Group H, consisting of Czechia, Estonia, Slovenia, and Sweden. The top three seeds of Group H qualify for the final stage of the World Cup.
