Fresh off their World and European Championship victories, Germany blends experienced EuroLeague stars with four promising newcomers

The German men’s national team, reigning World and European champions, will begin their qualification campaign for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Ulm against Israel. Three days later, Germany will face Cyprus on the road.

Head coach Álex Mumbrú has selected a 16-man roster for the upcoming games.

The squad features four relatively fresh European champions: Partizan’s Isaac Bonga, along with Bayern Munich trio Oscar da Silva, Justus Hollatz, and Andreas Obst.

Additionally, four newcomers who have yet to make their senior national team debut — Norris Agbakoko, Mahir Agva, Till Pape, and Collin Welp — have been included.
