Poland secured a victory at the start of the World Cup Qualifiers by defeating Austria 90-78 on their home court.
The most efficient player in the winning team and the one most responsible for the triumph was Jerrick Harding, for whom this was a debut for the Polish national team.
The Rytas player had already made a good impression in the Vilnius team in the Basketball Champions League, and now he showed Poland that they did not make a mistake when they naturalized him.
The Lithuanian team’s guard scored 32 points on his debut and led Poland to a significant victory.
Harding started well from the beginning and finished the game by making 11 shots out of 21 attempts from the field and also made all eight of his free throws.
It seems that Poland made an excellent choice, and he will have another opportunity to show his qualities in three days when they will visit the Netherlands in the second round of the qualifiers.
